The Southern Upland Way is the "backbone" of walking-based
tourism
throughout Southern Scotland. Spanning 212 miles of open countryside,
forestry and uplands from Portpatrick to Cockburnspath, the
corridor incorporates 16 towns and villages supporting over
250 businesses from Bed &Breakfast accommodation to hotels,
sports shops, grocers and luggage transfer services.
Using new technologies to reach new markets and new customers,
Southern Upland Way Ltd. exists to exploit the present area
of walking and rambling and enhance the potential for cycling
and equestrian use, bringing business and exposure to all
the many associated services along the Way.
By assessing, prioritising and exploiting all avenues of
potential, Southern Upland Way Ltd. acts as the catalyst to
other partner organisations and businesses aiming to realise
the true potential of the Southern Upland Way as a prime arena
